Self-Aligning Ball Bearings: Key Features & Applications

Key Features: 

Strong self-aligning capability, allowing for a 2°-3° misalignment between the shaft and bearing housing, effectively compensating for installation errors, shaft deflection, and housing deformation. 

Primarily bears radial loads, can withstand small amounts of bidirectional axial loads, but cannot withstand pure axial loads.

Outer ring raceway is spherical; standard cylindrical bore, tapered bore optional, compatible with split bearing housings, easy installation and disassembly. 

Low rolling friction, low temperature rise, supports both grease and oil lubrication, long maintenance intervals, and stable operation.

Limiting speed is higher than self-aligning roller bearings but lower than deep groove ball bearings; not suitable for large impact loads or ultra-precision applications.

Typical Applications:
General machinery applications—fans, pumps, textile machinery, printing machinery, woodworking machinery; the core reason for its suitability is its ability to compensate for installation errors and adapt to radial load requirements at medium speeds

Metallurgical and Mining Industry – Belt Conveyors, Bucket Elevators, Crusher (Non-Impact End); the core compatibility reason is its ability to adapt to misalignment issues between shafts and bearing housings caused by vibration.
